Galentines Soiree To a Black Women From A Black Woman
Hey,Hey,Hey……
I hosted my first galentines on February 10th and cried immdeaitely after, grab a snack and let’s talk about it.
Planning
I had this idea not long after New years that I wanted to host a galentines.(Sidenote, I have never hosted one but I love the challenge). I texted my mom an idea of what I wanted to do with the menu and decorations using Pages on my Ipad. I wanted to celebrate the black women in my life and allow us to take up space for a few hours.

I sent out the invites to the invited guest lists (my aunties and cousins) on the last week on January.
Decorations Haul + DIY
As soon as I sent out my invites, I started making my checklist to ensure my decorations were ready in time.
I placed my order with Take the Cake in Houston on January 30, requesting a White Cake/Vanilla Buttercream covered in Red Roses. I picked up the cake the day of the party that morning. Below is the video I took after recieving, I was highly impressed. I have worked with them before but this cake was amazing.
I picked up the balloons the day before the party and made the flower arrangements for the table from different colored bouquets of roses i bought and fresh rose petals.

Food, Food, Food
Based on planning I had done, food was the easiest thing. I picked up a Chick-Fi-a tray of nuggets the morning of the party. Let’s discuss my menu. I created it on Canva and printed it on cardstock for each of my guests to have a copy. I also included name plates on each guest seats.

Some of the off-menu items were: eggs, grits, sandwhich pinwheels, and chocolate covered strawberries. The alcoholic beverage was Cupids Twinkle, I found on Pinterest. It was very pretty and quite delicious. The cotton candy and glitter came from Amazon, everything else came from H-E-B.
Games, Games, Who wants to play a game?
I love games and can make a party a hit or a miss. I decided to rely on Etsy as they have never let me down. I chose these kind of games to not only challenge us individually but as a group. I invited women who knew one another and others who didnt this allowed for introductions to be made as we played.

In conclusion, this event not only celebrated love but it touched how important it is for black women to continue to pour into one another. We ate, fellowshipped, learned, and discussed what love means to us. The youngest attendant was myself and the oldest was 84-years young. I hope this inspires you to continue to celebrate the women around you on a man made holiday or a regular day.
Xoxoxo,
